Graduation and Reflection

So, after give or take 4 years I have finally graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. It’s been a long journey and I am thankful for everything that I have gone through, both the experiences I liked and those I did not particularly like at the time. All of it has helped me to become a stronger and more determined person.

So to those who have helped me, guided me, or worked alongside me throughout this whole thing, thank you. I say this especially to my parents, and in particular my mother Sherry Collins who always pushed me to do my best and who provided support every step of the way.

Now I embark on the next stage of my journey and I am certain that I will encounter many challenges, but I will approach them all with the same dedication and passion that I have had for my education, and with the support of my friends and family I am sure it will turn out just as well.

Game Development

When I was young, I had always found game development to be interesting. In fact, it was what initially pushed me to learn how to program in my first programming language (C++ of all things). I started out making various small games using the DarkGDK software development kit. Ultimately, I developed reasonable skills (for a kid) to develop what I wanted to develop. Those skills included 3D modeling, rigging, animating, texturing, and of course programming. Unfortunately, as I got older my interest in game development lessened to some extent. To tell the truth, it was really because I was just too busy focusing on other things, like getting an education!

Anyways, all of this is basically a long winded way of mentioning that I have picked up game development again! Having 3 years of university experience under my belt, as well as some larger scale projects, I am more prepared for the workload that comes with game development. So I will be updating the post over the course of development with information about the process and my personal thoughts.

You can download the current (at least as current as I have updated my website with) version of the game here:

Website Development

This website will primarily be used for documenting my projects and professional life. I created it as I have been thus far lacking in networking and personal projects. Keeping ongoing documentation of my works will serve to provide motivation to continue working on projects and keeping anyone viewing up-to-date on any progress that is made.
