This is a biometric fingerprint sensor that I made for my Biometrics and Cryptography course at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. It had a 3D printed case that was designed by one of my team mates. The hardware was a Raspberry Pi 4B using an ArduCam motorized focus camera. All of the software was written by me in Python. I took advantage of NIST’s Biometric Image Software for the actual minutiae detection / extraction. The device was capable of connecting to a central database using MariaDB to perform enrollment, verification, and identification from any other device running my biometric fingerprint sensor software.
